FAA, 51% - Approved Kits

The FAA has suspended courtesy inspections pertaining to the verification and listing of all kit plane manufacturers that are in compliance with the 51% rule.   We are led to believe that the suspension will remain in effect until the FAA publishes an official ruling.   The above suspension of manufacturer inspections will in NO-WAY impact a builder’s ability to obtain an airworthiness certificate from their local DAR.   RotorWay maintains that, as usual with the normal build process, builders keep accurate build-logs, sequential photos of the build and be prepared to answer process/procedural questions regarding their build.   If you have questions regarding obtaining airworthiness certificates, please feel free to contact your local DAR or RotorWay directly.
